RIDE TIME START CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS
If weather is questionable, please check this site prior to your ride for possible changes. Rides will be canceled if there is drizzle, rain or wet pavement or if there is a wind advisory is in effect one hour before ride time.

SUMMER 2008

SUNDAY, 8:00 AM Meet at the Pavilion
Join other riders for an "informal" Sunday morning ride.  Informal means the group will determine the route and pace.  Contact janwool@suddenlink.net with questions.

MONDAY - 7:00 AM - "SCTxC Cyclists-Welcome All"- Cyclists will meet and depart from the TENNIS COURTS-Sun City Blvd/Texas Dr.– Sun City. Join other SCTxC cyclists for an enjoyable morning ride.  The riding group(s) will determine the route and pace since there will be no official ride starter. Participating riders will determine distance and pace but this may vary slightly depending on attending rider's ability.  Rides are usually 30-55 miles at 14 mph-18 mph encompassing areas in and around Andice, Salado, Schwertner, Weir, Granger, Bartlett, Liberty Hill, Florence and/or Jarrell. Make sure you have a riding "buddy" at your skill level at the beginning of the ride. Contact Lloyd Lindsay (lindtool@aol.com – 863-3441) with questions.

Meet at the Pavilion for an informal ride in Sun City and/or the Sun City/Georgetown  area.  Rides will range from 10 - 25 miles, depending upon the wishes of the riders; the speed will be 10 - 12 mph.  Contact Jan Woolheater (janwool@suddenlink.net - 868-5573) with questions.

Tuesday, 8:00 AM  Meet at the Pavilion
Join Jan and/or Don for a slow paced ride.  We will ride about an hour and end at City Market  for food and fellowship. The ride will be slow paced, about
10/12 miles an hour, with plenty of water stops along the way. Questions?  Contact Jan at 868-5573 or janwool@suddenlink.net or Don at 863-8754 or dandlegrand@juno.com

Thursday, 8:00 AM  NEW DAY Meet at the Pavilion 
This ride will be a slower entry level ride for getting out of Sun City.  Ride will be 12 to 18 miles,
approximately 10 - 11 mph to Cedar Breaks, Hogg or Russell Park OR over the "DAM" road (no cars allowed).  You CAN DO IT!  These are easy rides and you'll get a beautiful view of the lake and see what the parks have to offer as well as having a little fun.  All experienced riders looking for a little shorter Friday AM exercise are most welcome.  Questions, contact Jan at janwool@suddenlink.net or 868-5573, or just meet at the Pavilion.

*Speed Code:  Much of the ride may far exceed the posted speed, however, by the end of the ride, the overall average speed will approximate the speed posted.

FAT TIRE Enthusiasts
Please contact Joe Moore at 868-3794 or moorehorizons@verizon.net if you are interested in riding "off road" around Georgetown.  The trails around Lake Georgetown, in particular, have a lot to offer. Joe will set up rides according to skill level and conditions on the trails.  As interest increases, more rides will be scheduled on a regular basis.  Don't be shy, dust off that Mountain Bike and give him a call!
